SPECIAL FUNDRAISER ALERT! FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, WOOF FACTORY WILL DONATE 20% OF ALL PAINTING ORDERS TO HELP MEMPHIS LIVE PAIN FREE!
THE BACK STORY: In 2002 I adopted Takoda, a husky with a broken leg. The vets said she’d always have leg issues, but she healed & became an energetic happy dog who would run for miles. Later in life she had a leg amputated due to osteosarcoma but she never lost her spunk! Because of Takoda, there is an extra extra special place in my heart for dogs with leg issues & this little husky Memphis makes my heart all mushy.
Watch his video & tell me he doesn’t do the same to you!
In addition to ordering a painting, you can also donate directly to Memphis … and if you don’t have any money to spend please share this link with your dog-loving friends!
I’m trying out a new style (in addition to my normal paintings), and people are liking these! Here’s a couple of “outline paintings” I have done over the last month. These paintings are 6″ x 6″ x1.5″, acrylic on canvas.
This pup was my first:
This Pit Bull was the first one, and it was purchased from the WOOF Factory Etsy Store quickly.
The second one is based on a photograph of my husky mix Takoda (RIP). It’s hanging on my wall under her big painting. Side note: my house is becoming a little Takoda shrine since she left our world in February of this year. She’s very, very missed!
I draw these in Illustrator and then sketch them on to the canvas and paint them by hand. I’ll be doing lots more of these soon … if you have a breed request send me a message!
Takoda even fills out fun surveys. Woofed by Takoda:
Is there anybody you just wish would fall off the planet? That dang Border Collie down the street who randomly attacked me years ago and I never forgot it.

If they made a movie about your life, what actor/actress would be you? One of Tom Green’s huskies, Steve (who is a girl, btw) or Annie

Have you ever been in love? Yes! With my family. Love at first sight, and it grows deeper every day.
Do you talk to yourself? Yes, and anyone else who will listen. Sometimes not by choice!
Today’s post is not quite dog art – but art nonetheless!
This is a 1970’s Western Flyer bicycle my husband and I found on a curb headed to the trash. It was blue with a crazy rainbow seat. We painted it black, covered the seat in black fur (in honor of our furry canines, of course), and added some parts from some other bikes. So we named the bike Franken Pedal.
